National shortage of blood bottles
There is currently an national shortage of blood bottles used for taking samples and clinicians working in GP practices, hospitals, community and mental health trusts and ambulance trusts have been asked to suspend non-essential blood tests.
At Ashford Medical Partnership, starting from today until further notice:
- All diabetic appointments will still go ahead with foot checks, blood pressure and BMI but the blood test will be rescheduled.
- Any patients booked for non-urgent blood tests will be contacted and rescheduled if necessary (this could affect any appointment in the next 6 weeks).
- All patients in need of an URGENT blood test will still go ahead.
We will keep patients up to date through Facebook, our website, our phone message and text messages as to what it happening regarding the stock shortage. We ask you to keep an eye out for updates rather than contact us via the phone line.
Please share this article so that we can spread the word.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and hope we can reschedule the blood test soon.
Thank you for your understanding.
